We are in the process of getting a number of delicious new hire packages on our website. You can glimpse a sneak peek of them here as we can’t wait any longer to share!
First up is our Lace package which consists of 80 lace chair sashes and 10 lace runners or round lace overlays. Our lace is the real deal (not the polyester type sometimes seen) and has a wonderful drape. The chair sashes work as drapes or bows. The runners are approx. 3m long x 35cm wide and are available in two types of lace, one of which matches the sashes and one which is a more delicate lace. The lace overlays are 30” in diameter. Cost to hire is £140.00 exc delivery (25% saving on cost if ordered separately). We can deliver locally, send nationally or help with styling.
These items do have quite a busy Summer schedule already so do get in touch asap if you’d like to book!
So proud to have a selection of our vintage china and props in the wonderful, local florist in Heaton Moor, The Flower Emporium. Michael and the team there are running a ‘Mum, You’re Vintage to Me’ Mother’s day competition where local kiddies are encouraged to draw a picture of Mum and take it in. The competition will be judged by a local artist and the Mums of the three winning artists will receive a Mother’s Day bouquet. Sounds good to me – I’ve got the six year old on the case – would that be classed as insider dealings?!
These beautiful boxes of bath melts were sent to a lucky bride to be last week… they made our studio smell absolutely amazing!
All handmade locally with 100% natural ingredients, these luxurious heart shaped bath melts with Geranium and Ylang Ylang essential oils are topped with real rose petals. A lovely treat for your wedding guests or maybe the hens at your party. True to our mission to act in as eco-friendly way as we can, these are packaged in a recycled kraft box and finished with a ribbon and personalised tag (made from recycled card) or a blank tag as this bride chose for your own message.
£2.30 for a pack of 3 melts and £1.90 for 2 melts per pack – do get in touch if we can help!
We are really pleased with our little find from the local charity shop – which also fuels our lovely of old books very nicely. Great inspiration for the design of our wildflower seed packets that we hand make as wedding favours or party gifts. The black and white illustrations are so beautiful… Let the Love Grow!
Excitement is building for one of our favourite events of the year this weekend. We are honoured to join the region’s finest wedding industry talent at The Wedding Fete, which takes place on Sunday 2nd March 2014 at The Old Parsonage, on Stenner Lane in Didsbury, South Manchester.
Open to the public, with free entry from 11am to 4pm, the area’s leading wedding industry suppliers will once again be on hand to offer advice and expertise to couples – you could easily plan your whole wedding in just one afternoon here!
As well as showing off all our beautiful vintage crockery and props for hire plus our range of handmade wedding favours (plus a few vintage bits and pieces to buy so bring your pennies), we will also be styling a pop-up afternoon tearoom where you can enjoy a cuppa and a slice of cake for £3. A limited number of luxury gift bags will be provided on entrance so do hurry along and grab one before they go.
Some of the wonderful exhibitors include our good friend Melanie James Bridal Boutique, The Flower Lounge, Lynette Page Make Up, the friendly duo at Dotmoxee Photography and the wonderfully talented Black Ribbon Designs for all your stationery requirements. Do check out their handmade, personalised oh-so-pretty wedding hangers too. There’ll be plenty of tasting opportunities for guests, as chocolatiers Cocoa-Cabana showcase their recently-launched wedding cakes, handmade chocolates and truffles; Didsbury ( and our) favourite The Cheese Hamlet offers alternative cake ideas and suggestions for cheese lovers; and creative experts at The Cheshire Cat Cake Company who design bespoke cakes, will have a range of sensational treats to choose from.
There will also be live music by singer/songwriter Gaina Williams – all in all, it sounds like a wonderful afternoon to us!
We will also be taking a few envious glances at “Bruce”, a converted chauffeur driven VW camper van from Great White Occasions – our dream to own one of these one day!
The Parsonage Trust is an absolutely stunning find so if nothing else do take the chance to have a nosy around it on Sunday – we really hope to see you there!
Today we had a lovely wander to Beech Road in Chorlton (South Manchester for you non-locals), such a beautiful area. We were off to see our friend Melanie James Bridal – an exquisite bridal shop which makes us gape in awe whenever we enter. If you are still looking for your wedding dress and are yet to find the ‘one’ we would heartily recommend Melanie. This talented lady currently designs all her range and hand-makes them with a small team of talented seamstresses (including her lovely Mum!). Don’t be put off if you are not a bride-to-be- however as she also does a fine line in party dresses, handbags, accessories and the cutest little dresses for little girls – at really good prices for what are essentially unique pieces.
Our mission today was to talk about the event that Melanie is currently organising on the 7th December where she will welcome her first designer into her boutique – the fabulous Eliza Jane Howell, who also designs and manufactures in the UK (fairly rare in bridal dress attire apparently). With our love of all things handmade, British and of course gorgeous we totally approve. We are honoured to have been asked to help style the boutique window for the day – more about this event later but do make a note of the 7th December, 11am until 3pm at Melanie James Bridal, 109 Beech Road, Chorlton. There will be a whole host of suppliers there with a vintage feel – cars, stationery, flowers, decorations, details, accessories, favours and a string quartet to boot. We can’t wait! Here’s a taster of Melanie’s boutique…
Hi there – we’re busy, busy, busy at the moment at Pebble Weddings with wedding season in full swing. We had two wonderful weddings last weekend – one in a marquee on a family farm in Yorkshire and another at the beautiful Swettenham Arms near Congleton. We were knee deep in hessian and lace in preparation for Hollie and Nick’s marquee wedding – they chose our hessian table runners with a pretty lace trim, tea lights trimmed with hessian, lace and twine, ‘Mr’ and ‘Mrs’, ‘Tuck in’ and ‘Cards’ bunting, cake stands to display the evening’s nibbles and lanterns to dot around the gardens. They also chose our fabulous ‘ Welcome to our Wedding’ signs to greet their guests and point people in the right direction - we’ll share more photos when we get them!
Our beautiful bride Catherine chose our lace chair sashes, lace table runners, recycled glass lanterns on shepherds crooks and our dainty vintage lace doily bunting to decorate the marquee. The Swettenham Arms is a glorious venue – it has a stunning lavender meadow out back. Definitely worth a look if you are looking to get married in the heart of the Cheshire countryside…..
To celebrate the launch of our beautiful new website we are offering a wonderful 15% off all hire items for bookings in April 2013.
Enjoy looking through our galleries of vintage crockery and glassware (all vintage, not vintage ‘inspired’) and quirky props such as our fabulous vintage typewriter ‘memory book’.
Hello and welcome!
We’re so thrilled to have our new website up and running and to be able to show off all our lovely new bits and pieces that we have been collecting over the last few years. We’ve got so much to share with you – the details behind some wonderful events we have been involved with, what inspires us on a day to day basis, the interesting trends we see emerging in weddings, christenings, birthdays and beyond and of course we’ll keep you updated on the beautiful pieces that we regularly add to our collection.
